This past weekend, we met this adorable girl at the public shelter. While there, she had received the best possible rating on her behavior evaluation and was even being used a “helper dog” to evaluate other dogs’ behaviors around dogs. Her calm demeanor is very uncommon for a puppy of about 10 months, which really endeared her to our hearts and compelled us to rescue her.
Marilyn LOVES to play, especially with tennis balls. In fact, we had to take the toys away from her so that we could spend some time with her. Apart from playing with toys, she’s very food motivated, has great natural impulse control and is super smart. You could teach this little girl pretty much anything, and she could possibly even develop, as she grows older, into a wonderful therapy dog.
Marilyn already seems completely house broken and crate trained. We haven’t heard her bark at all so far. She has great behavior around other dogs, at turns hanging out calmly and other times, playing goofily. She has even has a cat hiss at her, and she simply turned around and walked away, so she may even be a great addition to a home with a kittie.
Marilyn is already up to date on all of her vaccinations and is microchipped. She currently has slight kennel cough, so once she is well, we will have her spayed and she will officially be ready for her forever home. In the meantime, if you would like to apply to adopt her, you can email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
