Adoptable Pittie of the Week: Liberty

2 Jul

Over a week ago, we went to Manhattan Animal Care & Control to meet some dogs to see if we could find a new adoptable there and rescue them. Of the four or five dogs we met, one dog truly stood out. Despite her initial shyness, she cuddled up to us pretty quickly and it was clear she was in way over her head. A week later, we went back with Ann, our trainer, to evaluate her and the outcome was wonderful! Liberty is Bully Project‘s newest adoptable!

Liberty

We thought Liberty was a very appropriate name for this pup, being that we freed her on the weekend before Independence Day.

Liberty can sometimes be shy in new situations or around new people, but she recovers very quickly. She loves getting attention from all people, and especially loves to play games with them. One of her favorite things to do is a fetch a ball, but just about any toy will do just fine.

While living at the shelter, Liberty made a faithful friend in one of the regular volunteers there, named Carol, who also happens to work with Bruised Not Broken. We love that these people took Liberty under their digital wing to have a positive impact on her life. Check out this amazing video Carol made of Liberty on the day we rescued her.

Now, more about Liberty herself: she’s an almost 2 year old, 38 lbs pittie mix. She’s already spayed, fully vaccinated and microchipped. In other words: she’s ready to go! As much as we love this little girl, we want to see her have a permanent home of her very own.

To meet Liberty is to fall in love with her, instantly!!!! I met her at a mobile ACC adoption fair in my West Village neighborhood before Bully Project took her under its wing (what a LUCKY girl). I was just cutting through Jackson Square Park, bu when I saw her strutting her stuff and working the room, I couldn’t not say hello. Liberty lights up the moment you show her the tiniest bit of affection. And the way she nibbles treats out of your hand ever so gently is beyond adorable!!!! Now that this amazing girl is with Bully Project, she’ll get the stellar home she deserves. Thanks so much to Bully Project for saving this extra special pocket pittie girl!!!!
